At last… geek-guilt has a saviour

One of the things that makes me feel guilty now and again is the fact I am rubbish at taking back-ups of my computer hard drive. I know I should do it, I know it’s pretty important but it just gets lost sometimes in the bigger scheme and besides it’s a hassle.

Hail to the Chief

Edgar & Joyce SternKerry and I heard the sad news today that her grandfather, Edgar Stern, died today. I have only known Edgar for the eight or nine years that Kerry and I have been together and so I cannot possibly know him or miss him in the way that the Stern family did.

Welcome to Nathanael!

Nathanael's first pictureWe are pleased to announce that Nathanael John Robert Green was born this morning at 01.50 a.m. weighing a eye-watering 9 lb 9 oz. Both Kerry and Nate are both doing really well and we’re all absolutely delighted. Bethya is looking forward to meeting her baby brother later today for the first time and grandparents are winging their various ways from Kent.

Settling into Cambridge

Ridley HallWe’ve been living here in Cambridge for almost a month now and thought it a good time to say hello and give you a news update. College term has not yet started (a week to go) and so we’ve been able to enjoy a rest over the last couple of weeks, having unpacked and settled in. We’ve worked out where the Tesco’s is and all the essentials. Of course, we’ve also made a priority of registering with a doctor and visiting the local hospital’s maternity wing to make sure we are ready when Kerry goes into labour.

Speaking of which, Kerry and baby two are both fine. She is fit to burst and pretty uncomfortable doing most things as heavily pregnant women tend to be. However, both are healthy and well and we are trying to finalize names and get the children’s room ready for an extra occupant!
