Dave has fallen sick
As many of our friends will know, I (Dave) have been pretty ill since towards the end of August. We have had it confirmed today by the doctor that I have got Glandular Fever. It’s incredibly depressing and frustrating and we would be glad of your prayers as I try to begin my recuperation.
The doctor has ordered total rest and while I understand that Glandular Fever is pretty hard to predict, she has estimated that it may take two to three months to recover. At present, the worst thing is that I seem to have developed a secondary infection in my throat which is making swallowing and speaking very difficult indeed. I have been given some antibiotics for that infection and a spray to help me swallow so hopefully I can get over that quickly and concentrate on getting well from the Glandular Fever.
I’ve not come across Glandular Fever before really (I can’t remember anyone around me ever having it) but it’s a weird thing to feel alright, try and do something and 30 minutes later feel absolutely dead on your feet, shivering and in need of your bed! Anyway, prayers are always appreciated and please do pray for Kerry in that as well who now has two kids and one big kid to look after without too much in the way of any assistance.
