Go blog mark II
The family website has just been moved over to a new blog-based tool called WordPress. This is the second time that we’ve moved onto a blogging platform – hopefully this will prove more successful than the first attempt.
The big difference this time (warning: geek-speak coming) is that technically the blog is hosted on our own space rather than elsewhere. It’s also free… providing you have somewhere to host it obviously.
It’s obviously early days but I have to say I was impressed with how simple it was to set-up. Admittedly, it did take me (Dave) a short while to get the site to recognize everything and I’m not sure how well it would work for un-technical people but once I spotted the key problem, it was up and running in no time.
WordPress pride themselves on installation taking no more than five minutes and once I had spotted the key problem, I don’t think it even took that long.
